Stumpy was the first monkey that Arroz Marisco came across. At the time, he was about 1 year old, and had recently lost half of his right arm, likely to a poacher's trap. He was also without his mother, who had likely been killed by the same trap, or a similar one. While recovering from the wound, he spent a lot of time with his friend Mr. Lazy Eye and an unnamed female monkey, who may have been a sibling.

Despite these brutal setbacks, Stumpy joined his aunt Annie's troop and eventually ascended to the alpha male position. He held onto that post for almost one full year, before being replaced by Andy. In that time, he fathered Jack, Stompy, Ada, and Alina.

Stumpy has since drifted around, trying to join other troops. His current location and troop status is unknown.
