Barney is one of Bossy's grown children. He was a high-ranking monkey in Bossy's troop for much of his life and acted as an enforcer.
He was involved in a fight in 2022 that left him with an enormous wound down the right side of his face. It's possible this fight was with his brother Barry, who was the acting alpha of Bossy's troop at the time.
Once he was wounded, he dropped in rank precipitously. Other monkeys no longer presented their rear ends to him or offered fear grimaces when he approached. He was soon kicked out of the troop, and is now a drifter.
