Beany was a baby monkey in Bossy's troop. Dorty was his mother, but his grandmother Dorothy insisted on nursing him. Usually, when AM filmed Beany in his brief life, it was Dorothy who was holding him.
One week after his birth, AM filmed Dorothy leaving the forest, holding Beany's remains. It is unclear whether Beany died of starvation from Dorothy not producing enough milk and not letting Beany nurse with her lactating daughter Dorty, whether he died from a fall when Dorty was trying to get him back from Dorothy, or some other similar fate.
