Barry is a high-ranking monkey in Bossy's troop. He is the current active alpha of the troop, although it is unclear how long his mother Bossy will let him hold that post.
Barry does not seem to be an effective alpha. He seems more interested in bullying low-ranking troop members and collecting goodies than in actually defending the troop from neighboring troops.
While Barry can be harsh to low-ranking monkeys, he is very gentle and caring to younger monkeys in his clan. He was one of the monkeys who helped care for and carry Bessy around after her serious foot injury, and he can often be seen caringly grooming his son Tizzy.
