Bessy is a high-ranking monkey in Bossy's troop, one of matriarch Bossy's daughters.
Bessy was the first child Bossy had after losing Bossy Jr. in the previous year. As a result, Bossy was overprotective, often refusing to let her play with other children her age.
As a yearling, Bessy suffered bad injuries to her left leg and foot, likely from a fight. It's possible this fight was the same one that caused her father Cocky's disappearance. Her foot was badly cut to the bone, and she had a fracture in her leg.
During her convalescence, her sister Bolly and brothers Barry and Brody helped her by carrying her around, especially up steep hills that she couldn't get up herself. Bessy lost most of the finger-toes from her left foot from the event. Thankfully, this has not had much of an effect on her mobility.
