Barney is one of Bossy's grown children. He was an enforcer in the troop for a long time, but his current status in the troop is not clear.
He was involved in a fight in 2021 that left him with an enormous wound down the right side of his face. It's possible this fight was with his brother Barry, who was the acting alpha of Bossy's troop at the time.
Once he was wounded, he dropped in rank precipitously. Other monkeys no longer presented their rear ends to him or offered fear grimaces when he approached. As of 2022, it's unclear whether he is still in the troop; if he is, he stays by the periphery, and avoids Barry at all costs.
